WebCyclery is sponsoring the 10th Annual Firecracker 100,
which celebrates the birth of America. This is a casual
100km (65 mile) road bike ride that will be held on
Saturday, July 4, 2009. The ride will leave from the power
station parking lot at the northwest corner of Alfalfa
Market Road and Johnson Ranch Road between 8-8:30AM and
proceed through Alfalfa, past the Prineville Reservoir
into Prineville and back to the corner of Alfalfa Market
and Johnson Ranch Roads. Patriotic apparel is encouraged

Fashioned July 4th Celebration & Pet Parade
July 4, 2009 -- Bend
If you are looking for a special way to celebrate July 4th,
start the day with Bend's most historical event, the Pet
Parade, where children of all ages bring their special pet
(we've seen dogs - large & small, llamas, horses, lizards,
goats, and lots of stuffed animals) to parade through downtown
Bend. It's one of the most unique parades you'll ever
see! Decorating and lineup starts at 9:30am and the parade
begins at 10am. No registration necessary. Line up is on Wall
Street next to the School Administration building. No rabbits
or cats please. Kids will receive a keepsake and popsicle.
Then join the rest of the community for our traditional event
in Drake Park. The West Coast Bank July 4th Festival goes from
11am - 4pm. You'll find craft and food booths, old fashioned
games like three legged races, watermelon eating and water
balloon contests as well as wonderful live entertainment. COPA
will have a Kid's & Family fun area with games and hay rides.

partnering on their fifth annual BBQ and Blues the evening of
the Fourth of July. All proceeds will be going to the Vietnam

from 6PM until 8PM. Everyone is welcome to stay at Jake's for

Canby on the Fourth of July. More than 70 food and craft
booths surround Wait Park. The day begins at 7:30 a.m. with a
pancake breakfast. At 10 a.m. the king and queen officially
start the festivities. A car show, art show, demonstrations, a
parade, Teen Street, Pioneer Village and live music lead up to

beachfront on SW 51st Street, by Mo's. This year's program has
been ramped up. It will feature "Bigger and Better" fireworks,
including a majority of five-inch shells (previous years have
used three and four inch shells) that provide a big burst
along with the boom!
Family Festival

The town of Happy Valley holds their annual Family Festival in
Happy Valley Park. Festivities begin at 9:00 a.m. with a
guided Independence Hike (meet at the 145th Wetlands parking
lot). A family parade with floats, wagons and bikes begins at
145th and Ridgecrest Road at noon, and ends at the park.
Music, games, crafts, slides and bounce houses will be
available at the park, and fireworks will begin at dusk. All
events are free! Parking is plentiful, but post-fireworks
traffic can be heavy.

Wild rodeo action is followed by fireworks for the Fourth of
July. Outside the arena, there's a family carnival with
rides and games, art shows and food, including yummy
barbecue. Cowboys and cowgirls compete for rodeo circuit

Old-Fashioned 4th of July Celebration

Tigard's celebration begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Tigard High
School soccer field (corner of Hall Blvd. and Durham Rd.).
This Fourth of July event features clowns, live music,
games, and police and fire vehicles. Light snacks will be
available for sale. Fireworks begin at dusk.
