Southern Oregon Historical Society
The Southern Oregon Historical Society was formed officially in April 1946 out of concern for the fate of the Jackson County Courthouse, which had stood vacant since 1927. Since then, the ever-growing concern for the region's heritage has enabled the Society to grow from its largely voluntary roots into the mature and nationally recognized historical society that it is today.
