Bandon Area History

Coquille River Museum
The museum collection includes: Native American artifacts, photo exhibits and artifacts depicting industry, farming and Bandon's history with the cranberry. There is a natural history section as well as a military display. Photos show construction of the Coquille River Lighthouse in 1896. You will stroll back in history with Bandon's pioneer families, see early businesses, schools and office equipment from the medical profession. Reflect back to tourism and entertainment of the by-gone years. Yes, even way back then, Bandon was a very popular retreat! Ask a volunteer for a map of the museum to guide you through all the rooms.
