Oregon Walking Events

 

Prediction Run/Walk
February 3 2007 -- Coos Bay
South Coast Running Club, Cost: $5.00, $3.00 for students under 19. 5 mile run or 3 mile walk along the Coos Bay Waterfront. Some cross-country. Gift certificates to entrants who predict closest finishing times (no watches allowed) Ribbons and chili afterward. Call for starting time. Pete & Carole Dawson 541-267-6329.

Winter Wings Run
February 18, 2007 -- Klamath Falls
At the Miller Island Refuge.  It will have 2 mile walk & 3 mile run. Entry fee is $15 with T-shirt and $5 without.  For information, call  850-0975.

Snowshoe Walks
March 1-31, 2007 -- Crater Lake
Rangers lead interpretive snowshoe walks and discuss various aspects of winter ecology each winter weekend through late March at Crater Lake National Park. Sign up at the Steel Visitor Center at Park Headquarters for the 1 pm walk. Snowshoes are provided. Free, but there is a 30 person limit on each walk, and a minimum age of 8.
